If you’re looking for stunning bespoke Self-Publishing Book Cover Design and Formatting, then you’ve come to the right place.

Thinking of self-publishing? People do judge a book by its cover!

Not so long ago self-publishing was considered the last resort for would-be authors who failed to secure an agent and sell their book. How things have changed.

Today with mainstream publishers producing consistently fewer titles, and new authors barely given a second glance, self-publishing has become the norm. In today’s marketplace mainstream publishers are even looking to self-publishing book lists for their future authors.

With systems such as Amazon’s  KDP print-on-demand paperbacks and Kindle e-books, it is easy to get your book out there but not everyone is confident enough to do so. Even if you are tech-savvy do you have the knowledge and skills to produce the gorgeous cover your book deserves?

If you’ve spent a lot of time perfecting your manuscript, surely your book deserves the perfect cover?

The aim is always to create a book that can compete and that is hard to tell apart from a traditionally produced book.

It’s not a faceless on-line process, but a collaboration where you can discuss your thoughts and ideas. The result is a stunning book that works and that you are utterly delighted with. Self-publishing, afterall, is all about YOU taking control!

Bespoke Book Covers

When an author spends countless hours writing their book, making sure that every word counts, why would they want to fall at the last hurdle? I want authors to have every chance to sell their work so I spend the time creating individual professional covers that fit the genre and reflect the content and themes of a book.

Whatever your book requirements I can help you get your book ready for market. The stunning cover that is created will suit the genre and target audience of your book.

Well laid out content

Whether it’s a coffee table book, children’s picture book, business book or straightforward novel the internal pages don’t need to be boring but they do need to be artworked correctly to the requirements of the size, format and target reader, and sometimes with smaller type to get the page count down and make the ‘product’ cost-effective. Page layouts are designed accordingly and can include photographs and illustrations, which can be sourced or produced as required.

I’d like to put on record my appreciation for the hard work and professionalism you provided when you assisted in the final edit and cover design for my novel, “Bring Her Back". Without your involvement I wouldn’t have taken these final steps to get the book in front of any sort of readership but the project took off once you were given the go-ahead. Many thanks. “

I just wanted to say how blown away I am with the cover designs you’ve done for my books. More than that, your in-depth, expert knowledge enabled my self-published novels to compete at a professional standard. Your friendly, experienced service and wonderful designs have made my books instantly recognisable. I could never have produced something to this standard nor done the formatting for publication - I wouldn’t have known where to start. You’ve been brilliant throughout each process; I don't know how I would've managed without you! Thanks again and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for my next one!

I thoroughly recommend Christine Hammacott from the Art of Communication. Her book design far surpassed my expectations. It was such an excellent original idea that blended so well with the essence of my memoir book. I absolutely love it.

I also decided to give Christine the job of formatting. Once she received the edited manuscript she made the rest of the process of converting it to a presentable book and getting it published appear effortless. This included uploading it onto KDP Amazon in both e-book and paperback formats. Literally within a few hours my book went ‘live’.
Thank you Christine for providing such an excellent service.

Christine Hammacott’s Art of Communication Consultancy was suggested to me to design the cover of my new novel The Death Certificate. I supplied some ‘props’ and a few ideas of what I was looking for and how I wanted the book to look. I was delighted with the result. She absolutely ‘nailed it’ and following publication I’ve had very favourable comments about the book’s cover.

As part of the brief, I also asked Christine to produce a new cover for a previous novel The Marriage Certificate and to come up with a design which shared the feel of the latest one, so that it was obvious that the two novels were by the same author and the same genre. This she managed to do and I am pleased to say that the two novels look very up to date, professional. Christine also took care of the manuscript typesetting and the uploading of the text and image files for publication in kindle and paperback format.

Chris has produced all my covers. My grandson and I take the photos but Chris does something to them in Photoshop to bring them alive and turn them into vibrant covers.

This business gave me exactly what I wanted: they gave me an immaculate, professional product - a published book. While it was my responsibility to provide Art of Communication with good information they brought strong, relevant, imaginative design together with photographs and the appropriate rights. They gave a smooth, seamless process by understanding, through collaborative working, what it was about my book that I wanted to convey to customers via the cover design. By having them deal with all the behind the scenes technology to bring my book to publication meant I could concentrate on my writing.

My heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all you have done. Thank you for turning my dream into reality. I couldn't have done it without you

Working with Christine has been a pleasure from start to finish. She quickly grasped the slightly unusual brief, was prompt and professional in her communication, and I am delighted with the result.
